July 2 Linux Mint 18.2 LTS was released.
Linux Mint 18.2 is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and is supported until April 2021.

How to upgrade to Linux Mint 18.2 LTS
Upgrade from Linux Mint 17.3 LTS to Linux Mint 18 LTS by Clement Lefebvre, project leader of Linux Mint.
Linux Mint 17 LTS (based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) is supported until April 2019.

[ Smiles ] I am currently using Linux Mint 18.2 with the Cinnamon desktop environment and I have to admit, that it works great.

Debian, Linux Mint (Debian and Ubuntu based) and Ubuntu are for many years my favorite systems. The MATE and Xfce desktops I like the most.
